After graduating from North Staffordshire Polytechnic in 1988 (BA Hons. Fine Art) I have worked from various studios. Painting has always been at the core of my practice but I also make “hedge people” out of found wood. This ties in with my efforts to highlight the plight of the environment, hedgerows being vital habitats for wildlife.
I enjoy life drawing and this helps me with the figures that appear in my paintings. I am influenced by the Surrealists and the Symbolists who give me a language to talk about the preoccupations of the moment.
